The Gasthaus zur “Sonne” is an authentic Bavarian inn in Starnberg by the Starnberger See lake. For more than 65 years, we have been serving traditional Bavarian cuisine in our family-run enterprise. With regional sausages and meat from our in-house butcher’s shop, we always have fresh ingredients to hand. Combined with a love of regional specialities, we create hearty treats, substantial traditional Brotzeit snacks and top quality Bavarian classics. Since 2013, the Hacker-Pschorr and the Paulaner Brauerei breweries have jointly awarded the Stern der Gastlichkeit (Star of Hospitality) to gastronomic enterprises that have earned it through long-term, very high quality and special hospitality towards their guests. In order to achieve the annual award, all the expectations of the guests must be met as part of the qualification process. The Gasthaus Zur “Sonne” has been taking part since 2013 and we are very proud that we have been awarded a star every single year.

Of course you can easily pick up our menu to take with you. It includes dishes such as roast pork, Munich-style schnitzel or liver and kidney pan. Mondays is our boiled pork belly day. Packed in the practical, reusable Rebowl containers, you can enjoy our daily changing menu of Bavarian treats quite without any qualms of conscience. You can bring back these returnable containers or simply exchange them for filled containers on you next visit.
